Danube River
The Danube River is one of thelongest rivers
in Europe, second only to the Volga River.
It passes through nine countries on its way
to the Black Sea: Germany, Austria,
Slovakia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Serbia, Bulgaria,
Croatia, and Romania.
Dnieper River
The Dnieper River is the fourth longest river
in Europe. It flows through Russia, Belarus,
and the Ukraine before emptying into the
Black Sea.
Douro River
The Douro River flows from Duruelo de la Sierra
in the Soria Province of Spain to Porto on the
Atlantic coast of Portugal.
Elbe River
The Elbe River flows from the Northwest
Czech Republic through Germany on its way
to the North Sea.
Main River
The Main River is a 330 mile long river in Germany
that is one of the main tributaries to the Rhine River.
Moselle River
The Moselle River flows through France, Luxembourg,
and Germany and it is a tributary to the Rhine River.
Rhine River
The Rhine River begins in the Swiss Alps and it passes
through Germany and Netherlands on its way
to the North Sea.
Rhone River
The Rhone river originates in the Swiss mountains
and it flows through some of the best wine regions
of France on its way to the Mediterranean Sea.
Seine River
The Seine River river in France that is
nearly 500 miles long. It flows through
the Ile de France and Haute-Normandie regions
of France before emptying into the English Channel.
Saone River
River in Eastern France that connects to the
Rhone River in Lyon, France.
Volga River
The Volga River in Central Russia
is the longest river in Europe.
French Canals to Cruise
The Canal du Midi is a 150 mile long canal
in Southern France.
Canal des Deux Mers
The Canal du Midi and the
Canal de Garonne are known collectively
as the Canal des Deux Mers (the Canal of the
Two Seas) because they connect the Atlantic
Ocean with the Mediterranean Sea.
