Crete Island
Crete is the largest of the Greek Islands and it
is the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea
It is 3219 square miles in size (8336 square kilometers).
It is one of the most popular visitor destinations in
Greece. It has accommodations in all categories, and
all price ranges, and campgrounds as well. Flights to
Crete are available out of Heraklion Airport and Chania
Airport or by boat from the ports of Heraklion, Chania,
Rethimno, or Agios Nikolaos. Eastern Crete is the
most active tourism area and Western Crete is a quieter area.
