Srebarna Nature Reserve
Nature reserve designated in 1983 that is located
in northeast Bulgaria near the village of Dobruja,
about 11 kilometers west of the port city of Silistra and
a little more then a mile south of the Danube River.
The reserve is located on an important bird migration
route between Europe and Africa. Within the reserve:
Lake Srewbarna and a museum

Strandzha Natural Park
Protected area about 450 square miles in size that is
centered around a group of mountains located
in southeast Bulgaria and eastern Turkey.
The park was established in 1995 and it covers about
1% of the total area of Bulgaria.

Usungeren Protected Area
Nature reserve south of the town of Burgas
in the eastern side of Mandra Lake in Usungeren Bay.
The reserve is approximately 210 hectares in size and it
is part of the Bourgas Wetlands.
Usungeren was designated a protected area in 2005 to
preserve a natural wetland area of Lake Mandra that
is inhabited by more then 200 species of waterfowl
including several threatened species.

a protected area since 2005.
