Zach's Ride in Paradise is a bike ride to remember 18-year-old Zachary Manago, who was killed by a hit and run driver on Kamehameha Highway near Wahiawa while riding his bicycle on December 17, 2010.

Manago was killed on Dec. 17, 2010 while on an overnight around-the-island bike ride with friends. An SUV driven by Douglas Curtis struck and killed Manago, who was biking just ahead of his friends on Kamehameha Highway near Leileihua Golf Course. Curtis left the scene but he was apprehended several days later after Manago’s friends found his SUV and reported it to police. In 2012, Curtis was sen tended to serve 10 years in prison, the maximum penalty for the offense.

NOTE: The 2019 ride started in Mokuleia and bikers rode 47 miles around Kaena Point, down the Waianae Coast and ending in Ala Puumalu Park in Salt Lake. The final stretch of the ride went on a street that was named after Zach called the Zachary M. Manago Memorial Bikeway which is on Ala Napunani St.

DESCRIPTION: 47 mile bike ride from Camp Erdman at 8:00, from Pokai Bay Beach Park at 11:00, from Neal Blaisdell Park at 2:15, fron Kaena Point to the Waianae Coast, ending at Ala Puumalu Park in Salt Lake after a ride down the the Zachary M. Manago Memorial Bikeway on Ala Napunani Street.
