The East Honolulu Census Designated Place (CDP)includes the South Oahu Island mountains to shoreline area bounded inland by the Koolau Mountain Range, bounded in the east by Makapuu Point and bounded in the west by the Waialae Nui Gulch Stream. That means the Kohala Hotel and the Waialae Country Club are both in the East Honolulu CDP and Diamond Head Neighborhood and Kaimuki Neighborhood are both in the Metro Honolulu CDP. Waialae Beach Park straddles the border between the two CDPs.
