Outrigger Rebrands OHANA Hotels, Renames Two Waikiki Hotels

FROM THE ARTICLE: Outrigger Enterprises Group recently announced the rebranding of OHANA Hotels and Resorts to OHANA Hotels by Outrigger, representing the company’s mid-tier, off-beach leisure brand. The new name and logo is part of Outrigger’s overall corporate brand strategy introduced last year when the company launched is premier global beachfront brand, Outrigger Resorts, and wrapped its collection of Hawaii resort condominiums into Hawaii Vacations Condos by Outrigger. There are two OHANA properties in Waikiki, both conveniently located close to popular visitor attractions and beaches. With the OHANA rebranding, the properties will now be called OHANA Waikiki East by Outrigger and OHANA Waikiki Malia by Outrigger.

Savio Buying Outrigger Buildings

FROM THE ARTICLE: Outrigger Enterprises Inc. is selling two Waikiki apartment buildings to Peter Savio and is in negotiations to sell a third building to the local developer. Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Outrigger, the state's largest hotel operator, has agreed to sell the 16-story, 47-unit Ala Wai Terrace and the 40-story, 136-unit Ohana Ala Wai Tower to Savio's Hawaiian Development Co., according to Mel Kaneshige, senior vice president at Outrigger Enterprises. Kaneshige also said the company is in talks to sell the three-story, 144-unit Tradewinds Mauka complex to Hawaiian Development.
